Edith Head’s new project doesn’t exactly make Lillian Frost think “Hooray for Hollywood.” The latest Paramount Pictures B-movie for which Edith is designing the costumes is based on a case worked by Lillian’s boyfriend LAPD detective Gene Morrow, with the script claiming Gene masterminded the heist that led to his partner’s death. Lillian assumes it’s all lies—until Gene’s cryptic reaction makes her wonder how much she knows about the man she thinks she loves. 

Lillian has a front row seat to Edith’s backstage magic, but as the movie goes into production the ladies find themselves in a film noir of their own as old murders spawn new ones.
