Renee Patrick is the pseudonym for married authors Rosemarie and Vince Keenan. Rosemarie is a research administrator and a poet. Vince is a screenwriter, journalist, and editor-in-chief of Noir City magazine. Their novels featuring the Golden Age of Hollywood sleuthing duo of Lillian Frost and Edith Head have been nominated for the Agatha, Anthony, Left Coast Crime, and Macavity Awards. Both native New Yorkers, they currently live in Seattle, Washington.
Rosemarie and Vince share a love of movies, cocktails, and the New York Mets. Together, they've introduced movies at the famous Noir City Film Festival and on Turner Classic Movies. Separately, they’ve appeared on game shows. While they grew up mere subway stops apart in Queens, they didn’t meet until fate threw them together at a South Florida advertising agency.
Their most successful collaboration to date, Design for Dying was published one month before their silver wedding anniversary. And some said it wouldn't last.
ROSEMARIE hasn’t been the same person since she faked illness as a child to watch King Kong on Million Dollar Movie every day for an entire week. A vintage fashion lover long fascinated by the work of the Hollywood costume designers of the 1930's and 40's, she features period fashion tips gleaned from her book research on her Twitter feed at @romyk. Rosemarie has worked as an administrator at Seattle's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for over 20 years. She is much too proud of her third-place finish on Jeopardy! in 2005. Her poetry has been featured at The 5-2, Poems on Crime website and in Silver Birch Press's anthology Noir Erasure Poetry.
VINCE started at the bottom of the movie business as an usher and never looked back. He is enough of a film fanatic that he was a finalist on the IFC game show Ultimate Film Fanatic, where celebrity judge Henry Rollins called him “presidential.” The moment remains a high point of Vince’s life. He’s been a video game writer/designer and currently has several screenplays in development. His book Down the Hatch: One Man’s One Year Odyssey through Classic Cocktail Recipes and Lore collects the first 52 of his "Cocktail of the Week" essays, featured in Slate and USAToday.com. The book became a Kindle bestseller and received stellar reviews (“a terrific guide through the classic cocktail repertoire,” Rosie Schaap, The New York Times Magazine; “a great compilation of fine drinks,” Gaz Regan, author of The Joy of Mixology). Vince is cocktail columnist for Eat Drink Films and editor-in-chief of Noir City, published by the non-profit Film Noir Foundation. His blog can be found at VinceKeenan.com.
