THE SHARPEST NEEDLE COVER REVEAL

July 20, 2020

We shared this with our newsletter subscribers last week—Have you signed up for it yet? You really should—and now unveil it here: the cover for the fourth Lillian Frost and Edith Head mystery, The Sharpest Needle!

We’re biased, of course, but we love it. Our friends at Severn House have outdone themselves with this one. As for what the book’s about …

1939, Los Angeles. Marion Davies has a problem. The actress has received poison pen letters highlighting an embarrassing event in her past from the mysterious ‘Argus.’ Can Lillian Frost and her friend and partner-in-crime, celebrated costume designer Edith Head, expose Argus before Argus exposes Marion? Lillian’s boss, millionaire inventor Addison Rice, seems to think so, but when Lillian speaks to her idol, Marion is reluctant to reveal her secrets, fearful of jeopardizing her relationship with newspaper tycoon W. R. Hearst.

We can also report that Orson Welles makes an appearance or two, along with plenty of other cameos and surprises in a story set in the days before World War II erupts in Europe. We had so much fun writing this book, not least because it gave us an excuse to visit Hearst Castle at San Simeon last year.

The Sharpest Needle will be released in the U.K. in November of this year, and in the United States on February 2, 2021. It’s available for pre-order now. Read more about it here. And check back for more news and tidbits and Lillian and Edith’s latest adventure.
