IN THE LAND OF DREAMY SCENES

September 06, 2016

We have to begin with a development that still has us reeling in amazement – the one and only Leonard Maltin endorsed Design for Dying! He singles out our “breezy” mystery in his latest round-up of new and notable film books. As we always have copies of Mr. Maltin’s indispensable movie guides – both classic and modern editions – within arm’s reach, this is something of a big deal for us. We couldn’t be more thrilled.

Bouchercon, the World Mystery Convention, is coming up next week in New Orleans, and we’ll be there. Our schedule as it stands:

Friday, September 16, 7:30 – 9 AM – New Author Breakfast

Shake off those Sazeracs and come hear us talk about Design!

Friday, September 16, 3 – 3:30 PM – Hospitality Suite Signing

The good people at Forge Books will be hosting Bouchercon’s hospitality suite on Friday. Aren’t they the best? There will be games and goodies all day, and signings with many of our fellow Forge authors. We’ll be inking books and bookplates at 3:00 that afternoon.

Saturday, September 17, 12 noon – 12:50 PM – Panel: Look Through Any Window

A suitably star-studded panel for a conversation about mysteries set in Hollywood, with Melodie Johnson Howe, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Diana Chambers and moderator Holly West. A signing will follow.

Plus you’ll be able to find us at the hotel bar, or any number of fancy tippling parlors in and around the French Quarter as Vince engages in one of his other jobs as cocktail columnist. Wherever you see us, come say hello!

P.S. The photo above is of the costume Edith Head designed for actor George Peppard in 1961 when he was crowned King of Mardi Gras, in case you were wondering.
