When editor (and novelist) Diane Vallere asked us to contribute to a new anthology she was assembling for Sisters in Crime called Promophobia: Taking the Mystery Out of Promoting Crime Fiction, we immediately said yes. That was even before we learned we'd be sharing the Table of Contents with the likes of Rhys Bowen, Charlaine Harris, and our friend Hank Phillippi Ryan. Promophobia is a detailed guide to launching your mystery novel, packed with practical advice from people who have already done it. Our essay, "A Paper Doll That We Can Call Our Own," is about the harebrained scheme we concocted in advance of our book tour for Design for Dying that ended up proving the perfect icebreaker.
Now we have an additional reason to promote Promophobia: it's been nominated for the Agatha Award for Best Non-Fiction Book! We're so happy for Diane, who worked incredibly hard on this book and refused to give up on it. We're honored to be a part of it. Pick up a copy now!
